Savva's News
Good morning!
Savva began a new week of treatment today: he will undergo a 5-day course of proton therapy, along with chemotherapy.
Last week, Savva also completed a full 5-day course of combined treatment. Fortunately, the week passed without any significant side effects. This is very important because the entire course of treatment is scheduled for 6 weeks, and the main priority now is to complete the planned therapy as fully as possible.
The only concern for the doctors and parents is his high heart rate. Last week, Savva experienced tachycardia: his heart rate rose to 160 beats per minute. He was discharged home for the weekend; his condition had not worsened, but his heart rate remained elevated—around 135-140 beats per minute. The doctors warned that if Savva's condition worsens, he will be immediately hospitalized.
This week, the doctors will investigate the cause of these changes and take appropriate action. Savva is also scheduled for a contrast-enhanced MRI for monitoring.
We sincerely hope that Savva will be able to complete this week without complications or side effects. He experienced seizures during the first week of treatment, which were successfully managed, so it's especially important to closely monitor his condition now.
The main plan for the coming days is to complete all five days of treatment, receive the full planned therapy, and follow the doctor's recommendations.
